Last weekend, I knocked over Baby Girl's full glass of water, spilling water all over her bed and on her floor. Then, this week while I was dusting, I knocked over two cast iron bird statuettes, sending them plummeting to the hardwood floor. I still feel sick about the big gouges they made in the floor (as an aside: this is yet another reason I shouldn't clean). And just yesterday, I knocked Mr. W's glass (which was thankfully empty) off the kitchen table. It dented the floor, too (ugh!).
So, if anyone has tips for repairing wood floors, I'd love to hear them. And also, if I see you this week, and you stand next to me, this is your fair warning.

ReplyDeleteLOL, Aimee. One was a Tupperware cup (virtually indestructible) and one is a super heavy glass tumbler (also, I think, indestructible). The floors, however, are apparently very destructible. Not a good combo.
DeleteI have chronic clumsiness. I think it runs in the family. Fortunately, my "illness" runs more like yours - I drop or knock things over constantly. My mom's was more physical. I used to go home at lunch every day to make sure she was OK. Once, she had gone behind a huge chest freezer to hang a shelf and ended up stuck there until I came home. Once she was sewing and the needle went into her finger (through the nail). She had to carry the sewing maching to the phone to call me. Then there's my niece who trips and falls so often we got her a shirt that says "I do my own stunts". We're an entertaining family!

ReplyDeleteHoly moly! I cannot believe the glass survived the drop in tact much less so much in tact that it dented the floor! Wow! Can you just smile knowing that now your house is officially broken in?
