Pies, Pies, Pies

Every Thanksgiving I'm in charge of the pies. Three pies: apple, blueberry, and pumpkin. I love making apple pies, there's something so rewarding about the scent cinnamon and nutmeg filling the house.

For years I'd make the blueberry pie from scratch, but over time I've come to realize it's not worth it! LOL. Between the sky high cost of blueberries and the fact that it never--ever--came out right, I resorted to buying them. And am much happier about it.

As for the pumpkin, I buy that one too. Only because it's my favorite and if I made it, it might not stay my favorite--if that makes sense. And the bakery pies are delicious, so I only feel slightly guilty about this!

I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving filled with love, happiness, and plenty of good food (and pies!).

  1. If you really loved your children, you'd make their pies from scratch.

  2. baking apple pie is therapeutic. I think I need to make one soon.

I used to make cherry pie but now I just buy the pie filling.

  3. Theo, I was making a pie from scratch when I sliced my thumb. Am trying to think of a way to blame this on you.

Katie, it was therapeutic! And pie filling might just be one of the greatest inventions...
