Oooh, Oooh, Look!

Do you know what that is? It's the copy edits for Lucy Valentine! There's something about getting copy edits that a) make you feel like you need a remedial grammar class and b) make you feel like the book will really be published (woo-hoo!).

Things are moving fast with Lucy Valentine now. Copy edits were sent back yesterday, and soon ARCs (advanced reader copies) will be printed to send out for reviews and other promotion. Soon I'll have a cover, an ISBN (probably already do, but I don't know it yet), and I'll be thinking a lot about marketing and the business side of writing a novel.

And, as if that's not enough, my website is currently under construction and will soon have a new look.

See? Lots going on. Very, very exciting!

  1. Maybe this is a goofy question, but can the "average" reader ever get advanced copies of books to read? That really sounds like alot of fun. By the way - I can't wait for the Lucy Valentine book to be released - sometimes it seems so long from one book to the other for us readers - and you just want to keep on going with the series! Couldn't you write like 5 at a time?? :)

  2. Not goofy at all! The answer is sometimes, if the author happens to have a contest or something along those lines. And I just might...

I hear St. Martin's will be publishing the Lucy books every six months...
