A Rant and A Rave Wednesday

Rant:

Okay, I know people have to make a living. This includes taxi drivers. Now, seven or eight years ago, a group of people get into a taxi at an airport and the fare is only the drive to the destination. Nowadays, a fee is charged not only for getting into the taxi (about $3.00), but for each extra person ($1.00 each) and the luggage too! ($2.00 per suitcase). So a $10 ride from the airport quickly becomes $35--not including the tip. It just seems wrong. To me, at least. I'm sure the drivers would argue.

Rave:

If you're ever in the D.C. area, I can highly recommend the Wardman Park Marriott. Yeah, it's a little pricey (not so bad split four ways!), but I have never--ever--met a friendlier, more helpful staff than those who work there. From the doormen to the reception to the waitstaff and housekeeping--all wonderful. It's kind of rare these days, no? So a rave to all of them.
