Reflections of the Day

I spent most of the day in bed yesterday recuperating from a minor outpatient procedure (more Clunkerville--see posts from 11/2, 11/3). Anyhoo, I realized a couple things as I was lying there.

1) General anesthesia is pretty awesome.

2) There might just be such a thing as too much sleep.

Gasp!

I can't believe I just said that. Might be the lingering effects of the drugs talking...

  1. Has to be the drugs talking. But then again, I know when I do get the chance to sleep in even an hour extra - I feel bad when I get up. Not physically bad, just bad thinking about all the things I could have done in that hour if I had been up. Has to be a female thing, right?

  2. How are you feeling? I hope all is okay and you have a speedy recovery.

Take it easy today and you're right, there is a thing as too much sleep. It makes you feel groggy and you want to sleep and sleep and sleep. But then again, it could be the drugs talking.

    Have a great Wednesday.

  3. My dad had back surgery a year ago. Staph infection set in, and he still walks with a cane. The moral of the story? You're doomed.

  4. I don't think there is such a thing as too much sleep, Heather. But I do think it's hard to lie in bed all day. That wears me out! Hope you are taking care of yourself.

Ice cream should help. : )

  5. Mason, I think you might be right about the drugs. Have to say I'm now thinking about a nap... :) And yeah, I get the guilts, too. Not sure if it's a girl thing or not.

Dru, I'm better! Unfortunately still not done with doctors but baby steps, right? Hey, are you going to see the tree lit tonight? Thought of you when I saw it on the TV this morning.

Theo, you never cease to make me feel better. :)

Shelley, LOL, I did move to the couch at one point yesterday. There is something impossible about staying in bed, literally, all day. And ice cream always helps!

  6. Hi Heather, glad you're better.

No, I've done it so many times before and now I can't stand the crowd, so I'll be watching the tree lit in the comfort of my place.

I will check it out tomorrow and post a picture on facebook.
