I'm getting that nesting feeling again. The need to do home improvements, clean out closets, throw things away. This instinct hits me a couple of times a year, usually after I finish a big project--or am about to start one. In this case, I'm in the midst of two proposals--one that's going well, one that's causing me fits. And maybe because I'm torn, my brain is wanting to put all the writing aside for a while and focus on other things. Like renovations on the kids' bathroom, which is a project I've been putting off for a couple of months.
So, I think I'm going to compromise and clean out a couple of drawers and finish those proposals! Once I get them sent off, then the bathroom work will begin--it's my carrot to finish. Well, that and a pedicure sounds pretty good, too.
Do you reward yourself after big projects?

Yes I do. Next year I want to finish my kitchen and start on my bedroom.
ReplyDeleteA reward at the end of a big (or small) project is the only way to go.

Thoughts in Progress
I don't remember...it's been so long since I finished one. :-(
ReplyDeleteBut I related to the nesting comment. Last night I got frustrated with things and ended up cleaning out my desk (until 3:30this morning). Of course, if you "reward" yourself with a clean out before the project is finished, that qualifies as procrastination, doesn't it?
Which comes back around to not getting anything finished.
Dru, I'd love to do the kitchen counters--maybe next year...
ReplyDeleteMC, what's your favorite reward?
Linda, this is no place for logic!
And it's been a long time for me, too. We have to work on that!
Every room in my house is in a different stage of a project. Non are finished! When that happens I think my husband will be the one doing the celebrating.
