The Stay of Execution

There was a big green fly in my kitchen the other day.

Was.

I did apologize before I whapped it with a magazine. I scooped it up with a paper towel and tossed it in the trash.

My first mistake.

Fast forward a couple of hours. I was washing dishes when I felt something on my foot.

You guessed it.

The fly. He was alive and CRAWLED OUT OF THE TRASH BAG onto my foot.

A sane person would have whacked him again. But I'm not quite sane, so I flicked him off and away he flew.

Which means he's STILL IN THE HOUSE.

But...I haven't seen him since and am hoping he found a way out. But if I do see him, I'll probably try to catch him this time and let him go outside... But he better stay out there is all I'm saying.

  2. I understand. If I see a bug in the house (any kind) and kill them quickly, all is good. But if I watch them for a minute first something weird happens. I don't actually give them a name or anything like that, but...I can't squish 'em. Have to go to catch and release.

  4. Dru Ann, I might have to start doing that.

Oh great, Aimee. I didn't even think of that.

Linda, we do a lot of catch and release, too, but sometimes I'm lazy (bad!!!!).

LOL, Kristin. I haven't seen him around...
