The Randomness

I'm feeling a bit random this week, so here we go:

-We moved son #2 back to college this past weekend. I thought it would be easier this year (his sophomore year), but it's not. I can only imagine what next year holds for me when Baby Girl leaves for college, too, and my nest is empty. I might need to start stockpiling the chocolate now.

-I was thrilled to find out that A WITCH BEFORE DYING was #7 on the B&N mystery bestseller list. Big thanks to everyone who bought a copy! We celebrated with pie. Can I just mention how ridiculously happy banana cream pie makes me? It's crazy.

The German cover for Truly, Madly
-For some reason when I went school supply shopping with the kids, I ended up buying more stuff for myself than them. How many folders do I need, anyway? Let me answer that. A lot. A lot of cute, cute folders. And pencils. And pens. And notebooks. It's a sickness, I tell you.

-If you didn't get a chance to check out my recent guest posts, please do. Here are some links for you:

-Oh! And I was contacted this week about writing a post for a German magazine to help promote the German version of TRULY, MADLY, which comes out at the end of the month. How cool is that?

-I'm still writing the first book in the Love Potion Shop mysteries. If you want a peek at what they're about, click the Love Potion tab on my Heather Blake website: www.heatherblakebooks.com

For the rest of this week, I'm going to smother Baby Girl before she goes back to school next week, finish proofing the TROUBLE UNDER THE TREE paperback (it should be available by this weekend in trade paperback!), and keep writing...and maybe sneak in some reading, too.

How's the rest of your week look?

  1. Congratulations on #7, Heather! That is so wonderful AND much deserved! Mmmmm...banana cream pie.

Thanks for sharing all the links to your recent interviews! You've been busy! I didn't comment on any because sometimes I feel a little late like I'm just talking to myself and although that's not the worst thing, it is kinda sad. :( That is super fun that you will be writing a post for a German magazine! Please post the link, will you? Ich habe vier jahre Deutsch im Gymnasium gelernt (and I'll leave it there before I look like too big of a dork!). It's always fun seeing familiar things/people posted in different languages (or is it just me?!).

The rest my of week is going to be pretty chill. We are at the hottest days of our summer here in western Washington and since most of us don't have a/c at home (just not necessary for a couple weeks each year) we're hiding out at my folks' house since they are among the lucky! My dream home totally has a/c. I am a total complete grump in the heat. I plain and simple don't like it.

  2. Congratulations on your book...I've read both of the Wish Craft books and loved them. My girls (soph in high school and 8th grader) went back to school yesterday. I did a happy dance ;) Today my first granbaby went to kindergarten for the first time. He was soooo dang cute and brave. I came home and made banana bread. The rest of the day after I'm done with the bread, I will spend reading, taking the dogs out and waiting for the kids to get home. Have a great rest of the week Heather and enjoy your baby girl.

  3. Since it's late Thursday evening, my Friday should be calm since the daytime situation will be less several people.

  4. Thank you, Kristin! I hope the magazine will send me the link when it's ready--that would be cool, though I think I'd need you to translate! I hope it cools down for you in the NW!

Sue,LOL on the back to school dance. :) And a grandbaby in kindergarten??? Too sweet!

Dru Ann, you have to love those Fridays when half the office is out. Hope you have a great weekend!
