The Beautiful Drive

Mr. W and I took a little trip to Boone, NC a few days ago to see one of son #2's races. It was a quick trip--three days, two nights, and a lot of driving. It's 7-7 1/2 hours from here.

Boone is gorgeous this time of year, with all its colorful foliage. We had some extra time, so we took a drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a scenic road that runs through the Appalachian mountains. Lots of turnoffs and overlooks. We get fall color here in Cincinnati, but not like that. Here it's splotchy. There, it's a blanket.

Though we were short on time we did manage a couple of pictures.
