Tra La La La La

Much to my family's dismay, I've had the car radio tuned into Christmas music since early November. I can't help myself--I love it. There's something so soothing about Christmas music, and I'm all in favor of a little soothing.

My favorite Christmas song is "Mary, Did You Know" (the Kenny Rogers version), and of course the old classics like "White Christmas" and "Deck the Halls."

Least favorite? "Baby, It's Cold Outside" -- any version. Sets my teeth on edge. I don't know why--it just is.

~heather, who is oddly (only because it's not Christmas-y) writing to Taylor Swift's "Love Story" and Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" this morning. It is, after all, a Lucy Valentine book so I suppose it's fitting.

  1. I've been listening to Elvis' Christmas cd for a few weeks. I love "If Every Day was Like Christmas."

Was in a store over the weekend and heard "Christmas Shoes" and I got all teary-eyed right there. Have you heard that song? I've also seen the movie and read the book. I'm also obsessed with Christmas movies and books. Since early Nov I've been reading nothing but Christmas books.

  2. I love the Christmas Shoes song too--I'm a sap.

Haven't heard the Elvis Christmas songs, but I do listen to the Beach Boys Christmas music!

  3. Try Amy Grant's "Grown Up Christmas List". My 12 year old daughter will be doing one of her dance recitals to that song - I may need an entire box of Kleenex!

  4. Ann, I haven't heard that one. Will have to pop over to Itunes and check it out!

  5. I've been wanting to listen to Christmas music but only one station is currently playing it and every 2 songs they have John Tesh yapping away. I want to strangle him through the radio. Or maybe I just need to find something that isn't stressful to do, like baking cookies?
