In the grand scheme of life, I suppose I have nothing to be upset about.

But in the little corner of the universe I call home, I'm heartsick today.

The shelf holder in the kitchen cabinet broke today, sending about a dozen beloved Fiestaware plates to their death.

And yeah, there are silver linings. It wasn't the dinner plates or bowls, just the saucers and lunch plates...but it hardly takes the sting off. Especially when I had to pick up their colorful shattered remnants.

If that wasn't bad enough, there are now two chips in my new tiled floor.

Kinda wish I stayed in bed this morning.

~heather, off to see if I can find replacements

  1. As you said, in the grand scheme of things, no big deal. But sometimes it's the smaller stuff that gets to us - and I really feel for you. Was this vintage Fiestaware? Either way - just think - it's relatively easy to replace. Just a pain. Sorry:( Your day can only get better, right?

  2. oh man. seems like one of those days you want a do-over. I hope you can find replacements!

  3. Not vintage, Ann, thank goodness. I'm still looking for those replacements.

Do-over days. I like that, Katie. Wish it was possible!

  4. Don't sweat it. You can abuse your father-in-law's good nature, and get him to retile the floor for free. Again.
