Yes, I'm Alive

I'm still here! Really. It's just been a very busy two weeks. I'm happy to say I'm on my last round of edits for My Deadly Valentine. I'll email it to my editor on Saturday (deadline is Sunday). Cross your fingers she likes it.

Just found out my kids have another snow day tomorrow. The fourth in a row. They're ecstatic. Ecstatic, I tell you. Of course, this means the school district will have to tack on extra days at the end of the year (Ike blew through most of the calamity days in September), but at this point they're not caring all that much. And now...another storm is brewing for Sunday night. Let's just call this January break and be done with it. :)

It's amazing to me that road crews around here haven't caught on to using sand. Everything is salt, salt, salt. Which means a) it doesn't work so well at low temps b) big snowbanks aren't going to be affected and c) cars are a scratchy, yucky mess. Sunday is supposed to reach high 30s, so cross your fingers for a little melting. Especially on my driveway, which is currently a sheet of ice.

Trip to Stowe was amazing. Truly a winter wonderland. Lots of snow, lots of fun. We definitely want to go back next year.

The new Fiestaware is so pretty. Kind of wish I'd broken some dinner plates too. Cough, cough.

Okay, I think I'm all caught up with my goings-on. See, you didn't miss all that much.

  1. Your children are too soft. Make them sleep in the garage until further notice.

  3. Katie, I was wondering about you. Did you lose power? My kids had 4 days off last week. And loved every minute of it.

  4. thankfully we didn't lose power at all. the areas around us had power outages left and right. Josh went out towards Paducah, KY with the National Guard to help with some of the clean up.
