Spotlight On...

Holly's Inbox by Holly Denham.

I was a bit confuzzled at first because this is a fiction book, yet the author's name is the same as the main character's... But after a little research on the Internet, and if I believe what I read, then the author's name is a pen name for someone who wishes to remain anonymous.

Whew. Now that I've gotten that out of the way. Holly's Inbox is an enormous work of women's fiction. It's 665 pages long, but don't let that scare you as I think most of the pages were taken up by formatting. See, Holly's Inbox is all in email format. We meet Holly, her crazy friends, her coworkers, her parents, her hilarious grandmother all through email communications.

Have to admit it took me a bit to get into this book. It's a little slow going at first, but quickly makes up for it as layers are revealed. It's set in the UK and has a bit of that Sophie Kinsella / Bridget Jones flavor.

If you're looking for a fun chick-lit book for those long summer days, you might want to give this one a try. For more info, check out the book's website: www.hollysinbox.com.

  2. Well Ms. Webber, you have done it
    again.
I just finished Surrender, My Love,
    (I was sidetracked briefly)
    and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Alex and her sisters grabbed me
from almost page one and that's
where I stayed until I finished the book. And, who wouldn't love Matt and Cal?! You write the best
    characters!

I was totally engrossed in the book when our best friends showed up, out of the blue, from California.
And stayed over night! No warning..lol
She told me they drove all that way to say hi and
have some of my homemade caramel popcorn.
And, that's what they did..lol They left this morning.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation with your family.

  3. Melissa, it was fun. Nice way to spend a couple of hours. And I need to think about what to bring--we're flying, so space is limited. Hmmm.

Thank you, Gayle! I rarely hear about Surrender anymore, since it's been out for a while. So glad you liked it! And how funny about your drop in guests. You must make some mean caramel popcorn!

  4. It's won 3 state blue ribbons thus
far, in the sweet snack category. lol
Who woulda thought, eh? It was my grandmother's recipe and only has 4ingredients, (not counting the popped corn) believe it or not. No melting those store bought caramels for me!

If you ever have a craving, let me know and I'll email the recipe to you.
