Just read a news article about a head-on crash that happened locally. An older woman was driving along when her car crossed center and was struck head-on by a car carrying four teenagers. Both drivers died on impact.
The cause? Ice.
When I hear stories like that, it makes me so incredibly sad. It's almost like I want someone to be at fault, to blame. In this case, no one was speeding. No one was drunk or high. No one was driving recklessly. There is no one to blame. Accidents happen. Lives are lost. It's so scary that it makes me want to wrap my family in bubble wrap and keep them home, safe and sound.
My heart goes out to the families, and to the three teenagers now in critical condition at area hospitals. I'm going to give my kids extra tight hugs today.
