On The Road

Quick post today—because I’m not really home! I’ll soon be on my way home, though. Spent last night in Columbus, on a girl’s night out with my daughter. We went and saw Chicago at The Palace Theater, slept at a hotel on the outskirts of town, and now we’re off to do a little shopping before we road-trip back home. The tickets to Chicago were one of my daughter’s birthday presents—she was quite a happy birthday girl.

What’s the best birthday present you’ve received?

  1. I hope you and your daughter had a fabulous time seeing Chicago. Which was your and/or your daughter's favorite scene?

My best birthday present when my sister surprised me one year with a visit with the kids and my then ten-year old niece made me cupcakes all by herself. What was funny was her comment that the candle box didn't come with enough candles for me to blow out.

It was her expression that made my day.

  3. I received play tickets for my birthday last year and I agree that it's a wonderful gift! Not only do you get to enjoy a fun experience but the memories are the gift that keeps on giving!

  4. For my 8th birthday I got a trampoline. I practically lived on that thing for the next 4 years. I also got to do a Mom/Daughter outing that year - dinner and went to see Karate Kid. That memory is bittersweet to me now because (1) my mom passed in 2007 and this is a treasured memory I have with her and (2) the "new" Karate Kid is now coming out. Ack! Am I really that old?

  5. Hi Dru, cell block tango was great. And we laugh and laugh at "Class." LOL on your niece and the candles. Too cute.

A star, Tonya? Very cool! the play was great--though I do like the movie version better.

Lisa, you're right about the memories. My daughter keeps every playbill and ticket, too. :)

Aryn, what great memories to cherish. And LOL on feeling old at Karate Kid. Me too!
