...for the next time the power goes out at 10:30 PM on a 90* night.
1) A battery operated fan.
2) To already be in a deep, deep sleep and never know the outage happened.
3) That all the smoke detectors in the house had newly replaced batteries so they don't chirp, chirp, chirp. Nothing like searching for a flashlight, a 9 volt battery, and a stepstool in the pitch black.
If I had more wishes, they'd also include soundproof windows because without the background noise of the ceiling fan, everything outside becomes so much louder, including the dribbling of one of the neighborhood kid's basketball (for at least a solid hour at 10:30 at night). And maybe a battery operated lighted runway to the bathroom.
That's not too much to ask for, right?

Did you have storms? We didn't! It was beautiful here. Yes!~my husband does keep up on the fan, radio and he put in electric fire alarms with batter back up! If it was left up to me...I'd need your three wishes.
ReplyDeleteWere you caught up in that wild storm in the midwest?
ReplyDeleteI remember the last time we had a blackout and my first purchase was a hand-cranked radio (need to find where I put it) and battery operated fan with a water spritzer(need to find it). I do have plenty of batteries though.
Have a good Monday.
Smoke detectors are life-savers but can drive you nuts when the batteries go out. My wish would be sure to have plenty of batteries on hand for these items (I seem to run out and forget to buy more).

I can't sleep without a fan running either. The people in my building are unbelievably loud, even in the dead of night. Here's hoping you don't lose power again any time soon!
ReplyDeleteNo storms, just a random outage. We were lucky--some neighborhoods were without power for up to 6 hours...
ReplyDeleteI know a couple of people who sleep with white noise machines--not sure I could do that--noise really bothers me--but I do like my fan. :)
