The Versatile Blogger Award

The rules:

1. Thank those who loved me enough to bestow this gift.
2. Share seven things about myself.
3. Bestow this honor onto 15 newly discovered or followed bloggers–in no particular order–who are fantastic in some way.
4. Drop by and let my fifteen new friends know I love them.

So, here goes:

Seven things about myself. (Did you know there are 50 fun things you may not know about me on my website?)

1) I get obsessive over jigsaw puzzles. Just one more piece, just one more piece (next thing I know [10 hours later]  the puzzle is done.)

2) I want to learn how to crochet. (How hard is this???)

3) I want to have a house on the shores of Lake Champlain. Sigh. Ahhh.

4) I don't like driving when there are helium balloons in the car.

5) I still want to learn how to speak fluent Spanish. One day...

6) My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip.

7) In high school, I used to collect dinosaurs trinkets, and I still have a couple around here somewhere.

I don't think I can come up with 15 blogs, so I'm only going to do 10 (I hope this doesn't make me unversatile!).

1) Dru's blog, though she just got this award too. :)
2) Lorna Barrett's Dazed and Confused
5) Cozy Chicks (a little bit of nepotism here)
6) Ellz Readz
7) Linda (a brand new blog from an aspiring writer)
8) Killer Characters (again, nepotism)
9) Thoughts in Progress
10) Romance Bandits

I would really like to know some quirky things about all of you. Please share (hey, I told you about my dino collection)!

  1. Thanks Heather for the award.

quirky thing: even on vacation, I get up between 5am - 6am. If I get up later than that, my whole day is off.

I like that with puzzles..have to finish it completely. I like plain chocolate chip ice cream. Do you like yours in a cup or on a cone? Me, I prefer a sugar cone.

    Have a good Tuesday.

  2. Dru, I love sugar or cake cones. I esp. love the little grid at the bottom of cake cones that catches puddles of ice cream. yummmm. Not a big fan of waffle cones, though.

I'm not really a morning person so 5-6 AM sounds a little like torture to me--esp. on vacation. :)

  3. Crochet? I tried that. It's easier than knitting - at least I think so. I'm not the least bit crafty or coordinated. Good luck!

  4. Congrats on your award Heather!

Here are a few quirky things about me:

    1. If I see a movie on TV, I won't watch it if it's more than 10-15 minutes into the show.

    2. In 5th grade I wanted to be a Palentologist (person who digs up dinosaur bones). Once I realized you have to go to school for a very long time & don't get paid much I gave up on that.

    3. My favorite game to play when I was a kid was school. I was the teacher & very, very strict.

    4. I am working on becoming a morning person, it is a work in progress & I'm thiking of giving it up entirely.

  5. Heather, big thanks for including my blog on your list.

My quirky? I hate to call to order pizza. I don't know why, but I always make my beloved spouse do it. His was paying the babysitter (back in the day). So I always paid the sitter and he always orders the pizza.

I love any type of mocha ice cream but I'm partial to pineapple milkshakes from DQ in the summer.
And I'm obsessive with any kind of puzzle. Can't stop until I've solved it.

  6. Oh, and congratulations on the award. (Yes, awards always feel good.)

  7. Congratulations!

I recently taught myself how to crochet using a Klutz book - it was designed for kids, but the easy to follow instructions were really handy and I still use it as a reference for different types of stitches!

  8. Gina, how did you learn to crochet? From a book? A class?

Thanks, BJ! LOLOL on being a strict teacher. That cracks me up. A part of me wants to be an early bird, too, but the sleepy part of me always overrules it.

Linda, you have me craving DQ now. A mint blizzard? MMMMM.

Lisa, I'll look for the Klutz books--sounds perfect for my skill level. :)

  9. Congratulations on the award Heather and thanks for thinking of me when passing it on.

I don't know about quirky things but I love to fly and will fly in anything, haven't been up in a hang glider yet and I missed my chance last year to ride in a hot air balloon. I like to crochet and knit, but can only do a straight line type thing not into all the fancy stitches and directions (wish I could). I guess the quirkiest thing is every Friday for lunch I have a White Chocolate Mocha and a Brownie from Starbucks. What can I say I love chocolate and it's my deadline day.

    Enjoyed learning more about you.

  10. think we might be related?? I'm with ya on 5 of those (except I can crochet already and I didn't collect dinosaur trinkets).

I did however collect Snapple caps in high school. talk about a fairly useless collection. I just tossed them when I moved to KY almost 3 years ago.

  11. Heather, we WILL get together, and I WILL teach you to crochet. I just have no idea exactly WHEN... LOL!

  12. My sister was giving me a hard time just yesterday when we went for ice cream and I ordered my usual Mint Fudge Avalanche (Babcock Dairy's version of mint chip). I usually prefer mine in a dish, though anything but a wafer cone is good.
