The Not-For-The-Squeamish

Huh. Well, for some completely unknown reason one of my toenails fell off. Poof, gone.

Nope, doesn't hurt. Nope, no idea why. Nope, not sure what to do with the little piggy now. I can't put polish on it, but wearing a band-aid until the new nail grows in doesn't sound appealing either. This definitely messes with my flip-flop wearing. LOL--it's always the little things.

Weird, isn't it? But let's look at the silver lining--this might just call for some shoe shopping, closed-toe of course. Who's with me?

  1. Ugh. Not me. I'm one of those very strange females who HATES shoe shopping. But have fun. And if your little piggy was kind enough to provide an excuse to shop, make sure you find shoes that are kind to it. (Little piggies take such abuse. *grin*)

  2. I hate clothes shopping, but I can shoe shop all day long. :)

So far I've been using a Band-aid. Not too bad.

  3. You can try some cute decorative bandaids.

I also hate clothes shopping. I sometimes buy clothes without trying them on, knowing I may have to take them back. Hmm...maybe it's because the lighting is more subdued at my house and things look better. Probably a good reason to try them on at the store, I guess. Shoes are different tho. They pretty much look the same either place, plus you don't have to do the whole dressing/undressing routine.

  4. When I was little I was helping set up a big table with some other kids. The table fell on my toes & my big toenail had to be removed as it was only hanging on half way. It was the most painful thing for a little kid. I'm glad your experience was pain free! Good thing Summer is almost over and stores are stocking their fall shoes now. Take care of that toe!!

  5. Lynda, there *are* yellow "Crime Scene" band-aids in the house... And I'm with you on dressing rooms.

Breaunna, OW!!! That sounds terribly painful. I've had other toenails come off (painlessly)--usually after long hiking trips, but this one...no idea. Btw, forget the shoes--I'm so looking forward to pulling out my big fuzzy socks when it gets a little colder.

  6. is that shoe shopping in a retail store or online? If it's online, I'm there.

  7. Heather-I love fun winter socks. I recently purchased the cutest pair of argyle knee highs! I'm just waiting for the cooler weather to arrive before I can put them on :)

  8. Sorry to hear about the toenails....but yes, I think you deserve some new shoes. I'm with you in that I don't really care for clothes shopping, but shoe shopping can be fun.
