The Scary Place, The Scarier Place, and the Scariest Place of All

The Scary Place

I cleaned out my car last week. It had been (cough) a year or so since I last cleaned it out so I really got in there with the vacuum and multiple interior cleansers. And while it wasn't horrible at first glance, once I took out the car mats and got down to look under the seats... Whoa! There were things under there I didn't recognize. Plus various pens, money, socks, water bottles, an umbrella, six Gobstoppers, and pebbles galore. Amazing what could fit under there--and amazing that none of it was visible at first glance. I vow not to let it get that bad again. (We'll see how long that lasts!)

The Scarier Place

I paid a visit to son # 2's college bookstore (online) just to check and see how much his books are going to cost for the upcoming semester and nearly had myself a heart attack. Scary, scary, scary.

The Scariest Place of All

That would be my mind. I'm working on A Witch Before Dying (not sure they'll keep that title), and I have mentions of Dracula and Sasquatch in the same chapter...and it works, I swear. I'm telling you--scary.

  1. I remember spending less than $200 for books when I was in college, even got most of it back when I sold it back to the bookstore.

Hmm, can't wait to read how both Dracula and Sasquatch play out in your story.

    Have a great week!

And both Amazon and B&N buy used textbooks back from you.

Hope this helps keep some of the hard earned writing dough in your pocket. :)

  3. Heather, I once suggested that my sister just leave her car doors open so the ants and critters could feast on her trash. She didn't take kindly to that!

  4. Dru, that's pretty much the cost of one text book these days. Don't get me started--I might hyperventilate.

Joanna, if the critters kindly leave after they're done eating, then they're welcome to my car! I'll take all the help I can get. LOL.
