The Maintenance

Happiness! Turned in the third book in the Darcy Merriweather Wishcraft mystery series last Thursday. It's tentatively called The Good, the Bad, and the Witchy and I *think* it's coming out in January 2013. Whew! It was a nail-biter whether I'd make my deadline, but a couple of late nights and a case of Dr Pepper later...I was all set.

I have to say, it's one of my favorite books--so different. I can't wait to share it with all of you. The time will fly--and of course A Witch Before Dying comes out in August to tide us over!

Friday was a little nutty because of the storms in the area. So many nearby areas were hard hit by tornadoes. Lots of worrying going on, but we were the lucky ones in this case. So lucky. So blessed.

Saturday we went to one of my niece's birthday party. Family birthdays are always a good time, and I've made it an official personal commandment to never EVER again buy glitter wrapping paper. Sparkles everywhere! I'll still be finding them on Labor Day I'm sure.

On Sunday, Baby Girl and I went to see West Side Story at the Aronoff Center. Wonderful performances, but the story (as most of you probably know) is so sad. Came away wanting to read a romance just for a happy ending. I'm really all about happy endings.

And today--well, today I finally (finally!) used my the pedicure gift certificate I got for my birthday back in August. Some of you may recall why I couldn't use it back then (the great toe mishap of '11). I also had a manicure done, too. Two hours of bliss.

This week is maintenance week. Getting back on track. Cleaning the house. Getting a hair cut. Then, this weekend, I'm going to Chicago for a mini book tour with Denise Swanson and Kelle Riley. Can't wait for that.

This week, I'm also working on the fourth Lucy Valentine novel, which I'll publish myself in a couple of months. I love being back in Lucy's world. Will keep you updated with a pub date as soon as I have a better idea of how long it will take for me to write it. Always a mystery with that one. All I have to say is that after that deadline, I think another pedicure is in order, don't you?

  1. I love your Lucy Valentine books! If you're publishing it yourself, does that mean e-book only? I'm a paper-reader.

  2. Just saw West Side Story a few weeks ago and loved it! Love when we get the national tours in town. Good luck with your next deadline. I can wait for any of your books to come out!
