The Happy Fourth

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!

We had a great day, enjoying the time off from work and school (son #2 is taking summer classes), and celebrating son #2's 19th birthday.

I know I've said it before, but I cannot believe how fast time flies. If you're a friend on Facebook, you already know that son #1 is now a married man--he eloped with his fiancee on Monday, and now son #2 is nineteen, and Baby Girl is getting ready to fill out college apps.

Sigh.

That's a bit of a melancholy sigh, and a bit of a happy sigh. I love seeing the kids growing up into some amazing people, but I do miss the days when they were teeny tiny and just wanted to snuggle and read books all day.

I'm doing my best to just soak up all these milestones, to enjoy the good times and to learn from the not-so-good times. I've been truly blessed and I know it. :)

Wishing you all a happy Fourth--I hope you had a wonderful day, too!
