The Overwhelmed

I've been a wee bit overwhelmed lately. Nothing bad at all--life is SO good right now--just busy. Busy, busy, busy. Writing, family stuff, writing, writing, writing...

Right now the family stuff is the really fun stuff. We've been remodeling a bit, and it's so kind of thrilling to see projects wrapping up. Baby Girl is applying to colleges and having senior pictures done. Son #1 and his wife (I need a nickname for her!) have adopted a cat -- so adorable. Son # 2 is happy in school and has been traveling with his college cross country team.

We recently went to one of his races--in Gainesville, Florida! It was a quick trip. Flew down on a Friday, flew back on Sunday. We'd hoped to visit my family in the area but unforeseen circumstances shelved that idea. That left Mr. W and I with a whole afternoon to kill...

So what did we do?

We went here: Florida Museum of Natural History. Specifically we went to see the Butterfly Rainforest, and WOW. It was amazing. We stayed for hours, having a blast watching the butterflies and other wildlife, including some photogenic turtles (they were such hams).

If you're ever in that area, you must check it out. Amazing!

Next week, I'm hitting the road again with the Deadly Divas. Tour info here: Events. If you're near Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, or Bowling Green, come see us!

Oh, and one more fun story. During that trip to Florida, son #1 sent us a pic of the view from his hotel room:

Not to be outdone, I sent him a pic of our view:

LOL. Okay, he definitely had the better view. I was only a teensy bit jealous. All right. A lot.

And to hopefully put a smile on your face, here are some pics Mr. W took of the butterflies we saw. Gorgeous, aren't they????

This one kind of freaks us out!

  2. Hey, I live in Gainesville! Did you see much of the UF campus? I may be biased since I did undergrad there, but I think it's such a pretty campus.

  3. Dru, I think we should nag him to take lots more. ;)

Juanita, it's a gorgeous campus! The race son #2 ran was on the campus golf course and it was so pretty. One of his more picturesque races!
