The Puzzlepalooza

You've probably heard about the "polar vortex" by now--the fancy name for it's crazy cold outside. Perfect for staying in, reading, writing, and...doing puzzles.

Son #2 and Baby Girl are on a roll. They've commandeered the ping-pong table and each are working opposite sides of the net. It took two days to do the first set of puzzles, and right now it's just day 1 of the second set. They both go back to college on Sunday, so I'm enjoying every minute of the puzzle-making.

What do you do when it's too cold to go outside?

  2. Ok, who is the entirely compulsive person who lined up all the puzzle pieces horizontally and vertically? I salute them. :-)

As for me, Unfortunately, I go out anyway...

    1. That would be Son #2 -- he gets it from me. I HAVE to have rows. Baby Girl has the amazing ability to pick the correct piece out of chaos. Not sure how she does that. :)

Ugh on going out in the cold. I hope it warms up soon for all of us.

    2. My absolute least favorite part of all time in puzzle doing is flipping the pieces over. I think if I put them in rows, I might go postal! I have to admit that I look by color, not shape, so the orientation is not as important for me. :-)

  3. Oh, a donut puzzle! How cool. Though it would make me want to go get donuts each time I worked on it. I actually feel bad for saying it, but it's never too cold to go outside here.(San Diego) But, I know that if it were too cold, I would spend the time reading books and drinking hot chocolate.

  4. Oh, how sweet to see your big kids' puzzles all spread out side by side. As a mom of little ones, it somehow blesses me to see evidence of big kids "playing" and together even (or least playing side by side)! Enjoy this last bit of time with them before they are back to college. Certainly, the doughnut one (yum) is clear along with the landscape w/ deer...what are the other two?
